Ryanair will base three additional aircrafts at its Alicante base from late March 2010. The low-cost carrier will launch new routes to Altenburg, Krakow, Seville, Smaland / Vaxjo, Stockholm Arlanda, Valladolid and Venice Treviso. Furthermore, they will increase the frequency on flights to Billund, Brussels Charleroi, Bremen, East Midlands, Glasgow Prestwick, Gothenburg, Haugesund, Pisa and Stockholm Skavsta.
Jet2.com has announced that they will double their number of flights between Manchester and Tel Aviv. The announcement comes only days after bmi announced they will stop operating between London and Tel Aviv. The route will be serviced twice-weekly, Mondays and Thursdays, from March 22.
Delta Air Lines will launch two new nonstop flights to Honolulu from Detroit and San Diego. Starting June 3, 2010, the flights from San Diego will operate daily, while the route from Detroit will operate thrice weekly, effective from June 2, 2010. In unrelated news, the airline will cut flights from Cincinnati to Montreal, Des Moines, Providence, Rhode Island and Oklahoma City.
American carrier JetBlue has announced that from May 3, 2010, they will increase its Caribbean schedule with 25 per cent from Boston. The new destinations will be to Aruba and Cancun in Mexico, Montego Bay in Jamaica, Bermuda, Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and San Juan in Puerto Rico.
